International Youth Day!
August 12 – International Youth Day!
The day has been observed at the UN’s initiative since 1999. Every year the day gathers millions of young people from all over the world under different themes.
The theme of International Youth Day 2017 is Youth Building Peace. This year, the day is dedicated to celebrating young people’s contributions to conflict prevention and peace building.
To celebrate International Youth Day 2017, Association Hera XXI announced Young Ideas Competition, giving young people and youth advocacy groups an opportunity to win funding.
On August 11, 12 and 13, competition winners conducted awareness-raising sessions and promotional activities in Ozurgeti, Khulo, Batumi and Tbilisi. Our volunteers and activists congratulated young people, updated them on sexual and reproductive health and rights issues and discussed with them the role of young people in peacebuilding.
